Djallil Lounnas

About

Djallil Lounnas completed his PhD in Political Science in 2010 from Université de Montréal in Canada and is an associate researcher at the Center for Peace and Security Studies (CEPSI) at the same university.

From January 2011 to August 2012, Lounnas was an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the School of Governance and Economics of Rabat in Morocco. He joined Al Akhawayn University in January 2013 as an Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. 

His research is mainly focused on Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and North African/Sahelian and Djihadist groups and he has conducted extensive field research in Mali, Mauretania, and Algeria
