Founded in Brussels in 1983, the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) is a non-partisan thinktank which has been consistently ranked as a top 10 world organisation, by the authoritative ‘Global Go To Think Tank Rankings’ drawn up by Dr McGann at the University of Pennsylvania. CEPS was the recipient of the 2018 Prospect Award for Best European Think Tank in Global Affairs. CEPS serves as a leading forum for debate on the EU and its role in the world, but its most distinguishing feature lies in its strong in – house research capacity, complemented by an extensive network of partner institutes throughout the world. CEPS’ funding is obtained from a variety of sources, including project research, foundation grants, membership fees, conferences fees, publication sales and an annual grant from the European Commission. CEPS pursues an independent research agenda, realised with the support of its highly-skilled interdisciplinary body of staff. CEPS employs over 50 researchers drawn from twenty different countries.
