Doklev is Assistant Professor of Near Eastern and Islamic Studies at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski as well as Junior Researcher at the PREVEX Team of the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia. He holds a PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Sofia University. His PhD thesis (2018) deals with proto-Salafi religious scholar Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya and the reception of his ideas in the subsequent generations of Salafi-minded Muslims.
