The Norwegian award-winning science news magazine, ScienceNorway.no (Forskning.no), recently posted an article about the PREVEX panel at Arendalsuka 2022, Most people are not radicalised.
Based on research carried out within the PREVEX universe – and in Norway – the article highlights the panel’s research findings which address the question of why more people are not radicalised in environments where there are so many reasons to be angry. Despite studying different contexts, the researchers agree that the local, everyday resistance to violent extremism is typically overlooked in policy and academic circles, and that we should devote our attention to these local efforts against radicalisation for more targeted and efficient prevention strategies.
